Ugo’s knowledge of the history and art behind the sites is amazing. He brings so much perspective and information throughout the tour that I’d next level! Seeing the city through the eyes of a native was very meaningful. Ugo is kind, fun and extremely knowledgeable in everything we saw on our customized, curated tour. Ugo was Absolutely Amazing!!! He is so knowledgeable about the city of Rome and all the history behind each location visited. He is warm and hospitable and was an absolute pleasure spending the day with him. My husband and I saw everything we had hoped to see and more. We booked our tour through VIATOR and were fortunate to secure Alex from City Unscripted as our guide. Alex was great and his depth of knowledge was a real benefit to our tour as he has able to explain the significance of each of the sites we visited. If you plan on doing this tour see if you can line up Alex as your guide, you won't be disappointed.

Alex had a depth of knowledge that we did not expect. His detailed explanation of the importance of each site was superb and he really looked after us in explaining what was in front of us. Couldn’t recommend Alex high enough.

Alessandra was very informative and took time to tell us about the rich stories dating back to Roman times and modern events that shaped the city. We had a great trip with our guide Vania. Her communication prior to the trip was excellent and she listened to my requirements and tailored a trip to suit. It was a fantastic mix of churches, tourist sites and local food delicacies. She showed us a few local secrets that we would never have found otherwise.

Such a great tour with Vania! She took us to very special sites that we wouldn’t find on our own. She helped bring an understanding of the history of the neighborhood and all of the amazing structures that make it so rare.

i have many food allergies and my husband does not like sweets, but these were not problems.

Luca did an awesome job. He contacted us prior to the tour to find out our interests and not only did we visit several amazing sites, he was willing to take us off the beaten path to see areas many people would overlook. He had great knowledge of the city, area, and cultures. He was very personable and did not try to just keep us moving and finish like some other tour guides we had. He even stayed with us as long as we had questions and offered multiple recommendations for food and sites to see while we were visiting.

We saw so many things that we would have missed without having Luca as our guide. Learning about all the little details and walking through the small cobblestone streets was a highlight. Our tour guide Indira did a wonderful job of showing us many unique views on our tour. The rose garden was great, history throughout the tour was very helpful.

Indira was very nice and created a tour that showed us exactly what we wanted to see. She answered all our questions using her vast knowledge of Roman history. She also gave us great suggestions on what to do during the rest of our trip.

Angelo was the perfect tour guide - he asked us what we would like to see ahead of time and then tailored the tour to our interests. He was knowledgeable about Rome’s extensive history and had interesting stories to share about Rome’s details that we otherwise would never had learned about. We did the three-hour tour, which was great for a leisurely walk around a few of Rome’s neighborhoods, so we got to enjoy the atmosphere of the city. I cannot recommend this tour enough and if you can, try to get Angelo!! Grazie mille!

We had a 2 hour tour of the Vatican including the Basilica di San Pietro. We walked from the Campo di Fiori, stopping to learn about the many places we passed along the way. We were new to Rome so having a personal guide show us the ropes was really nice.

We enjoyed the tour and learned several little extra bits of information.

Olga went above and beyond on our wine tasting tour!!!!! We had full glasses of wine with appetizers and most importantly a loving conversation. The orange wine she wanted us to taste was unavoidable so she later found us a bottle and left with the concierge at our hotel. We were blessed to have her as our guide!!!

Rome is such an amazing city, so much history and culture! I was the only member of our family who had been to Rome in the past. For our first morning in the city, I wanted a private walking tour to get everyone oriented and excited about the next 4 days we'd be spending there. Our highly professional and personable guide, Massimo Avella, did not disappoint. He arrived at our hotel early and greeted us enthusiastically. It was his sincere wish to show us his beloved city with our particular interests in mind -- and not just history and culture, but also restaurant and shopping recommendations. He kept us entertained and informed throughout our 3 hours together, and when we had to say goodbye, left us wishing it didn't have to end so soon! Thank you, Massimo!

Bea was a fantastic guide. She was warm and engaging. She's bright and very knowledgeable. She has an artist's soul so it was easy to connect while she shared some of her favorite places in Rome. She was also very flexible regarding the itinerary. It was an exceptionally hot day so the plan we initially laid out had to be adjusted. She pivoted like a pro, without complaint. Ask for Bea if you want an intelligent (she knows German and Chinese!) guide who radiates warmth and personality.

We specifically signed up for this tour because we wanted to experience the culture and hidden gems of Rome. The tour did not disappoint thanks to our amazing tour guide, Beatrice. She asked us ahead of time about our interests. And, it was very clear that she prepared and planned our tour based on our interests. We had the chance to get away from the hundreds of tourists because we had already been to all the historical sites. And, we experienced fun Roman foods, wine, markets and art. Something we would have never experienced on our own. We asked Beatrice for recommendations for the rest of our stay. And, she took the time the next day to respond back to us to give us great suggestions. Please ask for Beatrice if you want to really experience the heart of Rome.

Bea was easy to understand and provided great information and a terrific experience. We loved the walk through the local market at the end of our tour. Bea also provided a lot of additional information of other things we could see and do during our time in Rome, this was provided after our tour finished and was way above and beyond what we expected.

Claudio is an amazing historian. He took the time to point out specific sites of historical importance and architecture. Claudio took us down beautiful floral lined streets and alley ways that we would otherwise of not seen. I would recommend him to anyone for a private tour of Rome.

Claudio was a very excellent and kind host who paid attention to my unique needs. He took me to boutiques that I never would have found by myself, helped me find pieces that work for me and gave advice for my style. We paused for beverages and for beautiful vistas of Rome. The pace was very good for me and we took care of everything on my list: gifts for family, something for the home, and many lovely things for me. I am not a great shopper. Prior to my afternoon with Claudio, I was not finding the kinds of shops that suited me. He gave me advice for any further shopping if I need it.

Claudio was a wonderful host who took me to the exact types of boutiques that I wanted. We covered everything on my list in shops I never would have found on my own. We paused for history and beautiful vistas while keeping a pace that was good for me. Claudio gave me good clothing advice and helped find sizes for me.

A custom experience that we have never had before. We filled the questionnaire almost in reverse, stating the places we had already seen and did not wish to see again. Nadia communicated often to be sure she could make a good plan for us. We saw things we didn't even know existed, enjoyed the inside of a basilica, and spent time in the Jewish Ghetto. One of our fellow travelers who tried to find a site on there own, without a guide never found it even though it was not far from our hotel. A guide is a worthwhile expense

There is so much to see that internet searches can't reveal. We very much enjoyed our walking tour of Rome with a local guide. We filled out a questionnaire before-hand, which helped shape the tour to best fit our interests, capabilities & limitations (being an "aging couple"). Our guide was knowledgeable, friendly & helpful. She showed us things we never could have found on our own. I even "upgraded" my straw hat to a real one from a company making them since the mid 1800's! From pictures to purchases to palate, it was well worth the extra cost for a private tour. Group tours are adequate, but this was specifically tailored to our interests & capabilities.

Nadia is friendly and easy to connect with. She is open to questions and is quite knowledgable. Her English is excellent and she is full of great suggestions! She even went out of her way and time and met us in our hotel lobby rather than the original meeting point that is 30 min walk for us. Beautiful lady and very helpful!

Andrea, our guide, was very friendly and knowledgeable. He also considered what we were capable of and tailored the walk to accommodate our needs.

If we or any family should come back to Rome I would ask for him
