Hi, I’m Massimo! I'm a professional tour leader licensed in Italian, English, and Spanish. I began guiding Italian groups abroad when I was just 18, and not long after, I discovered my greatest love - the city of Rome. Since I was 21, I’ve been endlessly captivated by its charm: the art, the history, the flavors, the hidden gems, and the unexpected neighborhoods that make this city so unique. What I enjoy most is bringing Rome to life for my guests, showing not only its world-famous highlights but also the enchanting corners that few ever get to experience. Every tour with me is designed to feel authentic, immersive, and full of surprises - the kind of memories that stay with you long after you’ve left the Eternal City.
Massimo was a wonderful guide! Knowledgeable, great personality, and he had filled us with a lot of knowledge in the four hours that we were together.

Massimo was a fantastic guide and took all of our requests into consideration. We saw so many things we may have otherwise overlooked or missed walking on our own. Thank you Massimo for a wonderful introduction to Rome!

Rome is such an amazing city, so much history and culture! I was the only member of our family who had been to Rome in the past. For our first morning in the city, I wanted a private walking tour to get everyone oriented and excited about the next 4 days we'd be spending there. Our highly professional and personable guide, Massimo Avella, did not disappoint. He arrived at our hotel early and greeted us enthusiastically. It was his sincere wish to show us his beloved city with our particular interests in mind -- and not just history and culture, but also restaurant and shopping recommendations. He kept us entertained and informed throughout our 3 hours together, and when we had to say goodbye, left us wishing it didn't have to end so soon! Thank you, Massimo!
