Hello, my name is Germain, and I have lived in Montreal for the past 20 years, worked downtown 15 years. I am fluent in English, French, Spanish, and can use Portuguese in a slow conversation. A tour with me will be filled with tidbits/facts about Montreal's history, and its best spots, many hidden ones. With jokes and anecdotes of all kinds. I like to make people from around the world fall in love with Montreal. I am a Montreal enthusiast, know it well, walked it, biked it, 'bus and subwayed' it. I am a fan of history and geography. I have traveled a lot around the world (USA, Europe, Latin America, Africa... my photo was taken in rural Rwanda) and attended many guided tours as a client. If you enjoy history, parks, scenic views, coffee, food, old buildings, narrow streets, walking around, to discuss friendly with the guide about Montreal, the Quebec province, Canada, and would love to visit the best spots and hidden jewels in Montreal, crafted on your own tastes, with the kids or not, I am the smiling guide for you.

We had a great time on our tour! Germain had great stories to tell about the buildings we were seeing. Such fun to get to know a place from someone who has lived in it for a long time.
Read moreWe had a delightful tour of Montreal with Germaine who highlighted the historical and architectural history of Montreal Old Town and moved on to downtown, McGill University and Mont Royal for a wonderful view of the city.
Read moreGermain (Bruno :) ) was such a great tour guide! I lived that he included the local views on the political environment and how these are shown in the art/architecture around Montreal. Germain was very knowledgeable and so much fun to hang out with for the day. It was the perfect tour to do the day we got there so we could plan out the rest of our visit based upon the sites we enjoyed most. Thanks so much!!

From Place d’Armes (Bank of Montreal vs Notre-Dame Basilica) to the English Pug and French Poodle, I enjoy how contrasts shape meaning. Montreal feels like an open-air museum where every block hides art. I love wandering unfamiliar neighborhoods, slipping into buildings I’ve never entered, and discovering art in unexpected places, including ruelles vertes, old alleys turned into small gardens and urban art spaces. I know Downtown, Old Montreal, the Village and the Underground City well, but I still enjoy getting lost. I point out animal footprints in old bricks, 450-million-year-old fossils, metro art in every station, and Saint-Laurent’s 10 km linguistic border between French and English. Public transport is my moving gallery of art, views, and shortcuts I’ve learned the fun way.
