Visit the historic town of Cambridge, explore its magnificent university buildings and uncover years of history on a private day trip from London
Here’s everything you need to know before your day unfolds.
Just a short train ride from London, you'll find Cambridge, the world-famous university city that's steeped in history, culture, and academia. Can you picture yourself relaxing on manicured lawns or punting lazily along the River Cam and strolling through the grounds of the stunning university buildings? We can.
You could explore the dramatic architecture of the university's famous King's College Chapel and the Bridge of Sighs, then wander through a colorful market and walk along The Backs.
Since you're in the city home to one of the world's most prestigious universities, it seems wrong not to pay homage to the iconic Trinity College Library, where you'll find an original manuscript of Winnie the Pooh and Newton's "Principia Mathematica" on display!
During your escapades, you and your London host might like to pop into a cozy British pub, where you can enjoy classic food and a pint of real ale. If that's not your vibe, you could always head to one of the city's cafes where locally-grown produce is served.

Nigel was very informative and enjoyable. Great lunch as well . When my husband took a tumble Nigel was fast and considerate. He made sure we got back to our hotel via the underground. Good conversation the the train and wanted to know about us. Thank you Nigel
Show moreOur tour guide Natasha is very knowledgeable about the history and tried to understand our interests and showed us the best part of the town. It was a bespoke tour and it suits family with young children. We would definitely come back again!
Show moreWe loved visiting Cambridge with our guide Elle, she was so kind, friendly and patient and it really made our vacation to England memorable! We will definitely be booking with CityUnscripted again.

Show moreAna, made the experience very engaging by contacting me prior to our scheduled date. We were able to plan my May 12th date with the requests I asked for and we were able to introduce ourselves to each other. The places Ana took me to were not always listed under regular tours of London which made it more interesting for me to understand the culture of the city. I was able to visit sites that only a Londoner would know about. I was especially thrilled to visit The Ned Bar/Restaurant, one of the filming sites of the James Bond film, Goldfinger. Another special visiting site was the lifting of the gates at Tower Bridge. We had the best viewing spot that only Ana knew where to stand. We had time to visit the first church built in London. We saw the horse guards parade own the street on their way to Buckingham Palace. We took epicures in front of the Clock Tower in the best possible location, etc. What I really liked bout Ana was her ability to socially engage with our environment.
