Vanessa was a fantastic guide, we had an incredible day exploring the sites of Kyoto and learning all about the history. It was super fascinating. I highly recommend for anyone who is visiting Kyoto. This was a highlight of my trip.

Aoi did a great job describing the development of Osaka between Edo and Kyoto. The rivers, canals, and roads connecting Osaka to important urban centers allowed Osaka to develop.

Ack is an efficient, prompt guide. He speaks English fluently and takes the time to understand what you want to experience. He even remembered a couple of things I had forgotten. I highly recommend Ack as a local tour guide in Tokyo.

The conversation never stalled with Alex. He shared the customs, rituals and history of the Gion district. He was always quick to point out great photo spots and take pictures of our family so we will have wonderful memories to remember the day and this beautiful city. He was sensitive to let us go at our own pace, pausing if we needed to, but always kept us moving as he pointed out special quiet sites and interesting corners of the city. He also shared tips about potential day trips from Kyoto and offered to be responsive to questions we may have even after our tour. He ended the day by dropping us off at a phenomenal ramen restaurant near our hotel. We’re so thankful that our first day in Kyoto began with Alex!
