Join a local host exploring ancient traditions and off-the-beaten-path sights. From Monks on Alms rounds to Thailand's oldest wood theatre.
Here’s everything you need to know before your day unfolds.
It’s all too easy to miss Bangkok’s old traditions, off-the-beaten-path markets, and the hidden world of Buddhist monks who call the city home. So you’ll discover just that with one of our local Bangkok hosts, who can’t wait to share with you that there’s more to their city than meets the eye.
Bangkok may be a modern metropolis that never moves slower than a sprint, but there are still communities keeping alive old traditions, and off-the-radar neighborhoods where you can try generations-old recipes.
You’ll see monks collecting early morning Alms, visit the oldest traditional wood theatre in Thailand, stop to enjoy an authentic local breakfast (moo ping, anyone?) and head to Baan Silapin, also known as the Artist's House on the banks of the Yai Canal - here you'll discover hidden gems like an art gallery, and see the traditional Thai puppet show. Who’d have thought you could squeeze so much into one morning?

Show moreVery good passionate guide with sense of humor
Show moreThe Legendary Kat was in fact awesome. It was like having a tour with a friend. She went at our pace, set the schedule per our tastes, and adjusted on the fly. We had a great time, and can highly recommend this tour package, and Kat in particular. For transportation and entrance fees, you need to have about B3000 to B4000 for a couple, extra for spending money, and of course tips!
Show moreWith only a short time in Bangkok, my friends and I decided to book a tour to get the most out of our time. We arranged a walking tour with City Unscripted Bangkok and were paired with a wonderful guide named Pakkard. She showed us her city and culture with enthusiasm and took amazing care of us. We saw so much in a short amount of time and left the experience feeling very fulfilled. We are extremely grateful to our guide, Pakkard, and City Unscripted Bangkok for their service!
Show moreChiara was a fantastic host in Tokyo. We gave her a wish list and she did a great job trying to take us to all the places we wanted to see in the most organized way. We loved Tokyo and she had everything to do with that. We were with her for 2 1/2 days. The half day was marred by the fact that it snowed so the weather made it difficult to see what we wanted to that day. Of course, weather is just something you have to deal with on vacation and we made the best of it.
Show moreKat brought us to all the places we wanted to see while being mindful of the heat and a person in our party with mobility issues. We absolutely loved Bangkok and we credit her with that. She spoke English well too.
