If you want to experience the hidden and non-touristy Bangkok, then go with City Unscripted! Our host Kat made us forget about the chaotic capital by taking us to a peaceful cruise in the canals where we could enjoy stunning temples and local houses, as well as the giant golden Buddha statue. During the cruise Kat was really great in explaining us the local lifestyle, culture and history and she was always open to answer all the questions with her contagious smile. After the cruise she took us to a urban natural oasis where (believe me!) we didn’t feel like being in such a chaotic city and were we ate the best pad thai we had in Thailand. Shout out to Kat, we’ll come back!

I’ve had a few different hosts during my trip, and Tom stands out by far. He is professional, knowledgeable, and very intentional in how he plans the day. What made this experience so special is that it was not a standard “tourist” tour. It was completely tailored. We moved away from typical tourist spots and I got to really experience the real Thailand. Tom went out of his way and shared history, culture, and local insight I saw places and understood things I would never have discovered on my own. Everything was seamless from start to finish. He knew exactly how to navigate everything, which made the entire day feel effortless. This experience is absolutely worth the money. Do I need to pay for the host's food or drinks?

No, if you and your host decide to stop for food or drinks during your experience, you don’t need to cover your host’s expenses—your host will take care of their own.

Can my experience accommodate dietary restrictions?

Yes! You'll receive a questionnaire right after booking where you can note any dietary requirements, and your host will tailor the experience accordingly.

How much walking is involved?

This depends on the experience, but your host can adjust the pace to suit your comfort level.

Do you have deals with restaurants or set food stops?

No, unlike traditional food tours, our hosts are free to take you to their personal favorite spots rather than fixed locations. This means your food experience will always be unique, with authentic and unbiased recommendations from someone who knows the local food scene best.

What happens if the weather is bad?

Your experience will still go ahead, and your host will adapt the day to suit the conditions. One of the great things about City Unscripted is that no two experiences are the same, and your host knows the city well enough to find great “rainy day” alternatives.

Is this experience physically demanding?

Can we explore outside the main city?

Can my host meet me at my accommodation?

Deniz did an exceptional job as our driver and guide from Kiel to Lübeck. He promptly picked us from the terminal and shared his knowledge of northern Germany and Lübeck particularly. In planning for the tour he took into consideration that of our group of four required a wheelchair and that went well. We ended up in a historic seaman’s pub and restaurant with wonderful food and service. Deniz is personable, accommodating, and enjoyable to be with. Note: Old town Lübeck is challenging for people with mobility issues due to highly set cobble stone streets and alleys and hills. In our case, it was possible because we had a strong, abled body person to push the manuel wheelchair over the areas laid with the cobblestones. Deniz’s knew the best approaches to take getting around the medieval town.

The tour was terrific and Naveen was great. My wife and I enjoyed his insightful perspective as well as the many great places he took us. We could have never seen Munich on our own with as much insight as Naveen showed us. It was remarkable and a fun look at a spectacular city - Munich. Can’t wait to go back!

We had an unforgettable experience in Kyoto with our tour guide, Amy! Her insights were top notch and she made sure we didn’t miss any of the traditional food that Nashiki Market has to offer. She also knew all the best picture spots and hidden gems that make Kyoto unbelievably beautiful. Truly a one-of-a-kind experience that we will never forget!
