Allen was an excellent tour guide on this Tappas adventure. The food he selected was delicious and truly things I would never have selected for myself. But even better than the food was his knowledge of the history of Barcelona and Spain. We so enjoyed the walk around the area and learned so much. The day ended perfectly with the best churro’s made fresh in front of us!

Allan was amazing. The choices of food was perfect with lots of dishes to choose from. But the part I loved the most was how he shared his knowledge of the history of Barcelona and Spain. I learned thinks I know I never will forget. The day ended with the most amazing churros!

The tapas tour was a phenomenal experience, walking the city while hearing its rich history and of course, the tapas and drinks were adored by all! The best part of the tour was our guide Alf, you couldn’t ask for a better guide and person!!

What you’ll do

Guidebooks are a bore; they can’t clink a glass of vermouth with you and they’re no fun to share a plate of pimientos de padron (seared peppers) with. But that’s exactly what your host will do as you flit between tapa and pintxos bars. Sip vermouth or cañas (the local measure of beer), and sample the favorite local dishes - like la bomba, croquettas of mashed potato stuffed with ground pork, and esqueixada, a zesty feast of raw salted cod, romesco sauce, tomatoes and black olives.  They’ll take you only to authentic tapa bars where you’ll be rubbing shoulders with the locals and you might not be sure what some of the things on the menu are - although there probably won’t be a menu, so you’ll be ever happier your host is with you.
