Eat like a local in Porto: A tailored culinary experience

Mayinka was our Tour Guide for this personalized tour and she was fantastic. She took us to some of her favorite restaurants and we got to have some traditional Portuguese specialties! We were able to order off the menus and pick what we wanted to try rather than a standardized food tour. She also gave us historical information on the buildings and we toured the market while enjoying some wine. We are so happy we did this tour with Mayinka. It was the highlight of our time in Porto.

Mayinka was our tour guide and she was awesome. I can’t recommend this food tour enough-every location was thoughtfully chosen, show casing the best of Porto. However, what elevated the experience was the storytelling and learning the history, culture of Porto. Myinka was outstanding and incredibly knowledgeable. We had a vegetarian in our group and she did a fabulous job making sure that he was accommodated and even recommended vegetarian restaurants for us to try. If you are visiting Porto and are wanting to try a food tour I would highly recommend Mayinka. Just remember to come hungry.

She was so friendly and knowledgeable about the Porto area. She has some great insights and took us away from the touristy areas as we requested. I would highly recommend her.

Our family had a great time on this tour. We had many good local dishes we would not have tried otherwise. We learned some of the history and good points about the city.

Mayinka guided us well in our food tastings, and patiently waited while we engaged with a local knife maker. After thoroughly enjoying Bolhao Market, she took us to her favorite bakery where we tasted six sweets that were unique to the area. With the remaining money, she took us to a tile shop where we purchased some lovely keepsakes from Porto. Obrigada, Mayinka!

Hannah was absolutely amazing! I felt like I was walking around with an old friend. She took me to places that had amazing bites and also informed me about the city as we walked. I couldn’t have asked for more. She even let me practice my horrible Portuguese without laughing in my face.
