Take a stroll from Amstel to Reguliersdwarsstraat and explore the heart, and soul of Amsterdam’s LGBTQ+ scene.
Here’s everything you need to know before your day unfolds.
With a loud and proud track record of supporting LGBTQ rights, Amsterdam has long been home to an energetic LGBTQ community.
Join one of our hosts on a personalized experience in which you will explore the significant sites relating to the LGBTQ movement in the city. Stroll from Amstel, a cornerstone neighborhood in the city’s LGBT history (might we suggest popping into Chez René or Amstel 54 - iconic spots) to Reguliersdwarsstraat, the heart, and soul of Amsterdam’s LGBTQ scene.
Allow your host to lead you off the beaten track and get a true taste of what this culture is really about - inclusivity, freedom, and of course, fun! Maybe try the popular gay bar, Taboo, or stop by at The Getto. This burlesque club comes bistro has been a ‘lounge’ for the LGBTQ community for decades.
You can get a tarot reading done whilst you wait for your food, but it’s their cocktail menu that’s really got our attention.

Anna was very accommodating and adjusted plans for de Pijp tour to better suit our interests. She took us to two great museums to get out of the downpour of rain that happened during our tour time. It was the best use of our tour time and a good experience.
Show moreOur tour with Anna was perfect! She contacted us prior to our visit and she had a great plan prepared. As our day unfolded, we found that our interests changed and she created paths and conversations to follow our new ideas! She is a knowledgeable and engaging guide!
Show moreWe had a great day with Anna in Amsterdam. She met us at the metro and took us through a wonderful tour of the De Pijp neighborhood while going to the Albert Cuyp Market. There we enjoyed the market stalls and the local dutch pancakes, especially our son. She then took us through a nice walk to Museum square where she explained the various museums. We were also able to relax a bit while our sons enjoyed a chess game at the RijkMuseum!. We then went to a nice local resturarent De Plantage of her recommendation with a nice view of the zoo and the pink flamingoes. We then walked around to the flower garden and Begijnof before ending our tour with the visit to the Amsterdam canals, Museum Van loon with their great Apple cake. All of us enjoyed the tour and introduction to some of the hidden attractions the local food which we would remember. We would love to have Anna as our friend host again if we ever are in Amsterdam again!
