Hi, I’m Dani

Hi, I’m Dani, a local architect who’s endlessly inspired by Mérida’s charm and creativity. What I love most about my city is its stunning colonial architecture - the colorful houses and historic buildings that tell stories from the past - and, of course, the delicious Yucatecan food from cochinita pibil to marquesitas. I love walking around the historic center, especially near Paseo de Montejo, and spending weekends exploring beautiful cenotes. As an architect, I know Mérida’s mix of old and new design inside out and I’m always excited to share its cultural side - from hidden art galleries to local exhibitions that make this city such a vibrant, inspiring place to discover.

What I appreciate most about Mérida is its distinct Yucatecan cuisine, the city’s safety and hospitality, and its proximity to nature - from the Gulf beaches to the cenotes hidden in the jungle. I enjoy discovering new restaurants and coffee shops, as well as exploring the region’s natural beauty. I know areas like Paseo de Montejo, Santa Lucía, Santa Ana, and Itzimná very well. As someone passionate about museums, lifestyle, and local culture, I take pride in sharing both the city’s iconic landmarks and its hidden gems that most visitors never get to see.

Fun fact: in Yucatán, we can survive anything… as long as we have sweet bread when it rains and cochinita on Sundays!
