Insane amusement parks, Orca shows and Nagoya Castle - maybe you’ll spot a ninja (we’re serious).
Here’s everything you need to know before your day unfolds.
You could dive into the weird and wonderful world of otaku, geek culture, in Osu, where manga stores sit alongside centuries-old shops selling traditional Japanese crafts, and fluro-colored cosplay (gaming superfan) costumes are nothing out of the ordinary! Perhaps you’ll feast on traditional food at futuristic malls in Sakae, or slurp ramen noodles to your hearts’ content - it’s polite to do so! You could explore the cherry-blossom-covered grounds around Nagoya Castle, discover the silent forests surrounding 700-year-old Atsuta Shrine, or head further afield to gigantic amusement park Nagashima Spa Land for roller coasters, water slides, and a relaxing soak in the onsen – Japan’s natural hot springs.

Stephen was a very accommodating tour guide. Due to the weather we wanted something indoors, instead of local sights. He suggested two different museums, we chose the Toyota museum and spent most of our time there. When we said we wanted to get a few more trinkets for gifts, he suggested a covered shopping district that he knew has a couple of souvenir shops. We thoroughly enjoyed the rainy day.
