We had a wonderful time exploring the town with Jorge. He was exceptionally informative, well organised and worked hard to ensure we had the best possible experience. Thank you so much for taking such good care of us during our day in Kanazawa. We had an amazing time exploring the city and it was a wonderful introduction to Japan. We were able to see much more than we anticipated.

We had a fantastic tour with Yuzuki- one of the best tour guides we have had yet! He was extremely knowledgeable about the history of Japan, Kanazawa, the temples, historic sites and found us great off the beaten path hidden spots to see. He also had great food recommendations and all sorts of interesting things to share with us. We enjoyed every part of the tour from start to finish and had a lot of fun- would love to do another tour with him next time we are on Kanazawa!

We had a fantastic walking tour in Kanazawa around the Geisha District, and it was truly one of the highlights of our visit. Our guide, Karolina, was exceptionally friendly, knowledgeable, and professional throughout the entire experience. She explained the history, culture, and traditions of the Geisha districts in a clear and engaging way, bringing the area to life as we walked through it. Karolina was attentive, patient, and happy to answer questions, which made the tour feel both informative and personal. We left with a much deeper appreciation of Kanazawa’s heritage. Highly recommended for anyone visiting the city.

Megumi was a phenomenal host! She knew the city and was able to show us a whole range of the cooler parts of Kanazawa - but mostly she was super patient and attentive to the kids!

What you’ll do

A rival to Kyoto as the historic jewel of Japan, Kanazawa is a melting pot of Japanese art, culture, and tradition. With your local host to help you squeeze in as many sights as possible, you’ll experience the perfectly preserved history of this gorgeous city. Entertainment district Higashi Chaya is a must-visit for anyone hoping to spot elusive, ethereal geisha, while a tranquil stroll through Kenroku-en, one of the Three Great Gardens of Japan, should be on every bucket list. You could browse stalls at the 280-year-old “Kitchen of Kanazawa”, Omicho Market, and see the unique Oyama Shrine with its Dutch-style stained glass on the third floor, or maybe you’ll be content to spend hours at the impressive Kanazawa Castle, the historic seat of power of the Maeda samurai clan.
