With a half-day to explore Hiroshima, why not begin with a ferry ride to Miyajima Island, where you’ll be able to visit the famed Itsukushima Shrine and the oldest temple in Miyajima, Daisho-in, built by one of Japan’s most famous monks. Also offering great views of the Seto Inland Sea, be sure to arrive with a fully charged camera. Cherry blossoms in spring and maple leaves in autumn also add to the magic of this famed temple site well worth exploring. Gallery Miyazato serves up traditional Japanese sweet sets that include the ultimate crowd-pleasers: Matcha and the famous Momiji Manju, perfect for an afternoon rest and a refuel in the inner garden.

We found Yuma to be absolutely delightful! Great English, a sense of humour and was very knowledgeable. The Peace Park Museum was hard to see, but would not have missed it for the world. Well done Yuka!
Show moreKaori is very great. Easy contact and she had answered all my questions and more about Hiroshima. Telling stories about the city and the visit goes lovely
Show moreReally great, balance between nature and culture. Kaku was a great guide, very friendly. It felt like we were visiting a friend and he was showing us around his city. we let him know it’s my birthday trip and he dedicated a song for me! really thoughtful and patient with us. thanks Kaku for a great day trip in Hiroshima.
Show moreWe had a great visit to Hiroshima with Kaku. He took the time immediately to learn all of our names including the younger members of the group expressing sincere interest in our lives. He brought us to all the points of interest in Hiroshima we had time for explaining what we were seeing while adding in points of Japanese culture we were not aware of. This was followed by a tour of the shopping district tailored to the wishes of the children after which he completed the tour by bringing us to a traditional restaurant and called ahead to make sure our large party was seated. Thank you Kaku for making our short trip to Hiroshima so memorable.
Show moreKaku was an amazing guide, he customised and personalised our tour to our every request, it was an absolute pleasure to have him as a guide, I will be recommending him to family and friends and anyone I know heading to the area! 11/10
Show moreWe had a wonderful time with Kaku during our tour of Hiroshima. Meeting up directions were clear and he was flexible with our late arrival. Moved us efficiently to the museums tracking the closing times so we didn’t miss anything. He was kind, considerate and respectful of the whole group and took time to learn about us including 4 children. Taught us things about Japanese culture we witnessed during our trip. After the museums and memorial visit he took us through the shipping district before bringing us to a traditional style restaurant after calling ahead to reserve us a table for our group. Thank you for making a brief stay in Hiroshima full of experiences and memories
