Darren was an absolute joy. He was so knowledgeable of the Manchester music scene and took us to all the places on my bucket list. His anecdotes were very entertaining as was his understanding of the city’s history. I feel like we made a new friend.

MANCHESTER'S MUSIC SCENE WITH A LOCAL HOST, PRIVATE + CUSTOM TOUR (I definitely remembered this tour, but I could not submit the review without ticking the above box, as it is not listed among the tours above) This is a not to be missed tour, especially with our guide Darren (Daz). I bought this for my husband as a 60th birthday present, as he is into music; knowledge and history. Daz met us at our hotel, and we had the greatest fun and laughter, with great insight into Manchester's music scene, with a bit of history also thrown in for good measure. Daz asked both of us, in the beginning what our particular interests were, so he could make it as interesting as possible for BOTH of us. I am not as into the music scene as my husband, but I enjoyed the whole tour thoroughly, and would recommend it to everyone. I need a walking stick sometimes to help me get along and Daz had no trouble taking his time so I didn't feel under pressure to keep up. The main man, My husband, thought it was an excellent tour, and sang my praises , and Daz's praises afterwards, and he still is! A DO NOT MISS TOUR, ESPECIALLY WITH DAZ.

Roy made our visit to Manchester unforgettable. On our own, we would have missed the rich history and all the great spots to see. Our main purpose was to see sights related to The Smiths but the tour was all that and more. Roy was an attentive guide and personalized our stops making this tour a wonderful experience for both my son and myself. He was terrific and the city is full of music, history and life. We are so happy to have spent the morning with Roy. I recommend his tour for anyone who visits this great city.

We had an absolutely fantastic personalized tour of Manchester with Kevin. He tailored the experience around the music history we love—especially pivotal older bands like The Smiths—and brought us to iconic spots such as the Salford Lads Club. We were lucky enough to come in one of the days a week they were open, getting to go inside and see the amazing work they continue to do for young people in the community. Standing outside where the famous album-cover photo was taken was such a special moment, and Kevin added so much depth and context to it. Beyond the music history, Kevin gave us a rich understanding of industrialization and how deeply it shaped the city—from the processing of cotton to the lasting importance of the worker bee symbol. He pointed out unique historical sites, shared great recommendations for additional places to explore, and even spent extra time with us to make sure we had the best experience seeing as many sites as possible. We left falling in love with the city…feeling inspired, informed, and incredibly grateful. If you want a tour that brings together the soul of Manchester’s music scene with the story of how the city came to be, we wholeheartedly recommend booking with Kevin. Be sure to take the time to share your interests in advance so they can personalize the trip to you as Kevin did for us.

Kevin had an in-depth knowledge of the city and its history. He set up a comfortably paced tour that gave us a great look at the city center and we better understood its people.

My daughter and I went on this tour. Our guide Kevin messaged in advance to ask about our interests. When I told him we were interested in literature and history, he customized the tour to include three libraries and lots of historic sites. Kevin was WONDERFUL-- super personable and interesting.

Kieran took the time to get to know about our interests ahead of the tour. He made it personal and fun, showing us lots of cool places, provided historical facts and interesting information along the way.

Had a good walk around the city and learnt loads about Manchester we had no idea about despite a few previous visits. It was really good that Kieran knew the areas so well and had personal anecdotes to bring the city to life. Followed Kierans personalised recommendations and had a brilliant dinner and night out after and he showed us where to go from our hotel the next day to get to the main shopping centres and eateries.
