Manchester's music scene

My husband and I are big music nerds and love a lot of the music from Manchester. As part of our 20th anniversary trip to England, we booked a private walking tour of the city. Our guide, Kevin Garvey, did such an amazing job tailoring a tour specifically for us. He was in touch before we arrived to find out more about us, and then built in thoughtful touches and tour stops that were specific to our interests. And they were places we never would have found on our own. Kevin made the day so incredibly special and it was truly the highlight of our trip. He’s funny, generous, thoughtful and kind and did a great job sprinkling in relevant history and facts about his beloved city.

Kevin! Kevin made our experience special from the moment he was confirmed as our host. He is incredibly thoughtful and deliberate about his plans. Honestly, we enjoyed everything. His pride and enthusiasm would shine through in every detail he shared. He was clearly enjoying himself and did everything he could to ensure we were as well. We saw everything we had hoped to and more, and learned so many new and interesting facts along the way. As my sister said, "he made us feel like we were family visiting from out of town."

Darren was an excellent guide who taught us about the great city of Manchester and its rich music history. We hit all the spots on my list. It was a 4 hour tour with tea break in between. Just a perfect day.

Darren was an absolute joy. He was so knowledgeable of the Manchester music scene and took us to all the places on my bucket list. His anecdotes were very entertaining as was his understanding of the city’s history. I feel like we made a new friend.

MANCHESTER'S MUSIC SCENE WITH A LOCAL HOST, PRIVATE + CUSTOM TOUR (I definitely remembered this tour, but I could not submit the review without ticking the above box, as it is not listed among the tours above) This is a not to be missed tour, especially with our guide Darren (Daz). I bought this for my husband as a 60th birthday present, as he is into music; knowledge and history. Daz met us at our hotel, and we had the greatest fun and laughter, with great insight into Manchester's music scene, with a bit of history also thrown in for good measure. Daz asked both of us, in the beginning what our particular interests were, so he could make it as interesting as possible for BOTH of us. I am not as into the music scene as my husband, but I enjoyed the whole tour thoroughly, and would recommend it to everyone. I need a walking stick sometimes to help me get along and Daz had no trouble taking his time so I didn't feel under pressure to keep up. The main man, My husband, thought it was an excellent tour, and sang my praises , and Daz's praises afterwards, and he still is! A DO NOT MISS TOUR, ESPECIALLY WITH DAZ.
