Things are off to a pretty good start, but it gets even better, trust us. You’ll join one of our local San Fran hosts as they take you on a journey through an eclectic neighborhood that’s certainly not shy about showing off its character.
Known for its vibrant street art and larger-than-life murals, bakeries and coffee roasteries, and Latin American flavors in its rooftop restaurants, taquerias, and food trucks, there’s never a dull moment here.
You’ll soon discover the history and personality of this vibrant district, with a bonus - it’s a local who’s showing the ropes. Check out Clarion Alley and Balmy Avenue, whose murals date back over 30 years and bring to life the neighborhoods’ history.
Oh, one more thing: shopping. You could find yourself wandering through local Latino markets, past street vendors, and into stores selling luchador masks, making you feel like you’ve been transported to the streets of Mexico City.

Kathy was the perfect host! We were thrilled to have had the opportunity to walk through the amazing Mission District with her. Her welcoming friendliness, love and knowledge of the city, and her thoughtful preparation made for an unforgettable experience. It is hard to pick a favorite spot because she introduced us to so many wonderful places and people we would never have found on our own. The community gardens, historic Mission, incredible chocolate-tasting, amazing murals, cultural and community centers, and finally our fantastic meal at Cubita were all rich and vibrant experiences reflecting the beauty of San Francisco. Kathy is a wonderful host for her beloved city. Many thanks Kathy and City Unscripted for a thoroughly enjoyable experience!

6 of us had a great afternoon with Kathy. She is so knowledgeable and provided lots of vignettes and stories as well as the history of the MIssion District. We walked and visited where locals hung out, ate great local delicacies and Kathy was really helpful in pointing out interesting places, facts and photo opportunities. Our Instagram is now filled with #missiondistrict This is highly recommended! Kathy is definitely 6 stars up!
