You’ll sip your way around Edinburgh’s Old Town with one of our Edinburgh hosts, a fellow whisky-lover, of course.
They’ll tell you all they know about the different whisky distilleries in the city, and impart some of the Scottish traditions and witticisms surrounding the tipple with you.
All of this requires a hands on approach, so you’ll sample amber liquid from various whisky regions in the country and learn to distinguish between the different notes, from peaty and oaky to the smooth texture of single malt Scotch whisky.
Your host will take you to a traditional whisky cellar, where you can learn a bit about the distillation process as well as an exciting small batch producer, whereafter you’ll visit a favourite local pub. It’s here that you’ll get a taste for all that makes Edinburgh wonderful - hearty laughter, friendly locals and the occasional foul-mouthed joke.
So, let the drams flow as you develop your palette. We find we’re much better at telling our Scotch from our Irish once we’re a few wee nips down.
