Our tour guide was Liis, a friendly foodie living in Stockholm. She met us at our hotel, and had a brief chat with us in the beginning of the tour to agree in which type of foods we were interested in trying the most and then guided us to three fantastic locations, where we had a chance to taste different Swedish foods. We started at the Östermalm food hall, where our guide gave us a walk through of the whole hall introducing different Swedish foods to us and the different preparation and cooking methods that are used in Scandinavia. It was interesting to hear that ancient Vikings preferred salting and curing their foods to help keep them throughout the long winter periods, when nothing else was growing in this climate and how this had influenced the Swedish cuisine until modern times. We had a freedom to choose what we wanted to taste and decided to try an assorted selection of Swedish seafood. The shrimp bites and salmon rolls were so tasty, and really gave us a sense of what Swedish seafood was all about. We also had beverages included in the tasting! The second location where our guide took us, was at a nearby restaurant called the Sturehof. We had a chance to try out Swedish cheeses and aperitif, that were truly mouth watering. She had really given thought to the items on the menu, and was very knowledgeable about the Stockholm restaurants. The final stop was at the Chokladfabriken, where we had a free choice to taste different Swedish chocolate, and loved all of them. Our favourite was the raspberry-licorices truffle. Both my wife and I were really happy at the end of the tour, and our guide even took us to a interior design store where we saw Swedish designed dishes and cutlery and found amazing souvenirs to bring back home. I am really satisfied with this food tour and would recommend it to a friend or family member anytime. Thanks for being such a nice host and giving us a first class experience of the Stockholm food scene!

Me and my wife had a fantastic food tour with Liis, we tried out Swedish delicacies in the best food spots in Stockholm, and enjoyed a beautiful walk in the Östermalm marina. Would recommend trying out the tour if you havent tasted the best of Swedish style seafood, cheeses, spirits and chocolates yet.

Sarah was knowledgeable and friendly. She provided a fun and varied food experience. In addition to learning about the local food, Sarah provided some historical information about the area. We thoroughly enjoyed our experience and recommend it to other travelers new to Stockholm.
