What you’ll do
Discover some of the city’s best-loved dishes, from Baltic herring served with a variety of sides like creamy mash potato and lingonberries, to more surprising favorites, like kebab pizza. As an alternative to meatballs, you could try isterband korv, a lightly smoked, sour pork sausage.
And as every Stockholmare knows, fika is a must, and your host will share with you how this ritual of slowing down with coffee and cake is truly part of the culture. You could try arraksbollar, a treat of liquor-soaked cake that’s rolled in chocolate sprinkles.
But if beer sounds more your style than coffee, your host will have a few trendy micro-breweries and gastro-pubs up their sleeve, where you can taste local brews along with a real smörgåsbord of nibbles!
