What you’ll do

Get ready for a half-day adventure in the cozy capital of Norway, like kicking your half-day off outside the Royal Palace for a peek at the royal guards, before picking a pansy along Karl Johans Gate, where you’ll pass one of Norway’s most prominent theatres and other romantic landmarks. Next, head to the nearby Nobel Peace Center, an arena for involved politics overlooking the harbor, before darting to the Scandanavian architectural pride, the sleek Opera House. Wander off the tourist track to trendy suburb Grünerløkka, intertwined with remnants of industrial Oslo, snug cafés and exploding street art celebrating Norwegian beauty and precision. There, meander past the sparkling Akerselva River, and ask your host where to find the yummiest krumkake in town.
