My husband and I took this tour with Nik and he walked us through the neighborhoods of Roma and Condesa. We were arriving later in the evening and Nik was able to meet with us later in the evening and it worked out perfect for us. Nik gave us some history of the neighborhoods, the architecture, restaurant recommendations and local parks. It was a nice way to start our trip getting to know our surroundings. Thank you Nik.

Our tour guide was Roberto. He was very knowledgeable and tailored the tour to our interests. We wanted to see more of the pre-columbian parts and learn more about the different phases of Mexico City. Roberto was also very open to share his personal experience as an archeologist from different sites around Mexico. We learned so much and had fun doing it.

Maxel delivered a walking tour that was worth every minute. He knew the history and the local context, but more importantly he made the city feel alive. He set the pace, checked in often, and adjusted the route based on our interests without wasting time. He balanced deep knowledge with humor and personal stories that made the experience feel genuine. If you want a tour that shows both the iconic spots and the hidden corners most people overlook, he is the person to book. My recommendation is to book Maxel early, wear comfortable shoes, and arrive with a few questions or themes you want to learn about. He is excellent at curating the experience around what you care about. You will walk away with a better understanding of the city, great recommendations, and a few stories that will stick with you. I would absolutely book with him again.

FAQs

Your questions, answered

Is this a traditional tour or something different?

This isn’t a traditional tour with a fixed script. It’s a fully personalized day shaped around your interests, whether it’s culture, history, neighborhoods, or hidden local spots. Your host is a knowledgeable local, more like a friend showing you their city. It’s flexible, one-on-one, and tailored entirely to you.

How does personalization work?

After booking, you’ll receive a short questionnaire where you can share your interests, travel style, and any must-see spots. Based on that, we’ll match you with a local host who’ll reach out to plan your personalized itinerary..

Will I know my itinerary in advance?

Yes, you will have the opportunity to chat with your host directly and agree on a plan for the day. However, there’s always room for spontaneity and local surprises!

Can I adjust the plan on the day?

Absolutely. Your host can adjust the itinerary on the day based on your pace, energy, or any new ideas you have. It’s a flexible experience from start to finish.

Is this experience suitable for families, solo travelers, seniors, or groups?

Yes! This experience is designed to be flexible and can be tailored to suit families with kids, solo travelers, seniors, or small groups.

What happens if a scheduled attraction is unexpectedly closed?

It’s unlikely, as our hosts usually check opening times in advance. But if a planned stop is unexpectedly closed, your host will adjust the itinerary on the spot and suggest a suitable alternative—your day will stay flexible and enjoyable.

Are there fitness, mobility, or accessibility requirements?

The tour involves walking between food stops, but it’s flexible. If you have mobility needs or would prefer a slower pace, your host can adjust the route accordingly. Just let us know when booking so we can plan the best experience for you.

Can I mix different themes (food, history, neighborhoods, culture, nightlife) in one experience?

While this experience focuses on food and drink, your host can also weave in local culture, neighborhoods, or a bit of history during the experience. Just share what you're curious about in the questionnaire, and your host will tailor the route to suit your taste.

Can my host meet me at my accommodation?

Hotel meet-ups are available upon request in central areas. If you're staying outside the city, your host will recommend the best meeting spot and guide you with directions.
