I made some last-minute changes to include my friends 14yo son on the tour with me. Our Guide Alvin was flexible in making him feel included, whilst still maintaining my original "must see" places. Alvin was so generous with his time, chatting easily and sharing knowledge of his local area, he really made us feel welcome. Alvin is a kind, intelligent and genuine guy and made our visit so meaningful, as we gained a deeper understanding of Japanese culture, local traditions and advice. We walked at an easy pace, stopping for photos and coffee as we liked. With the knowledge he provided, we could then go and explore further or take others from our group back to the places he showed us. We both highly recommend this tour as a great value, informative and accessible trip as two customers with vastly different interests (14yo M, 33yo F). Alvins tour was one of the highlights of our trip. Thankyou

We enjoyed our night tour of Gion with Axel. He is an excellent guide who knows all the hidden spots where Geisha live and work. His English is very good, he is very knowledgeable about Gion, and has seriously studied Japan’s history, cultural and religious heritage. While we only caught a quick glimpse of one Geisha or Maiko during our tour, it wasn’t because of a lack of trying by Axel. We recommend him highly!

Ai was a fantastic host and guide to us for the city of Kyoto. We had an evening walking tour booked with her and she was like part of the family for those 4 hours. She was talking to the kids and explaining the history of Gion and sharing the stories of how Japan and India culture are so similar in certain aspects. It was an absolute pleasure to have her with us and wish her the very best!
