A 3rd-century Shinto shrine, exquisitely marbled Kobe beef and unusually themed pet cafes.
Here’s everything you need to know before your day unfolds.
Discovering a new city is exciting, but it's even more fun when you get to do it with a friend by your side. That’s exactly how it will feel as you delve into the heart of the city with one of our local Kobe hosts.
Here you will find the Ikuta Shrine, one of Japan's oldest Shinto shrines that dates back to the 3rd century. Feeling energetic? Grab your hiking boots and amble up Mount Rokko, where you can take in the panoramic views over the port. And don't worry, if your legs can't carry you any further there are cable cars to hitch a lift on. Phew.
Venture beyond Mount Rokko and you will come across the outdoor hot springs of Arima Onsen, but if that is not your vibe you could always explore a specific neighborhood you’ve been dying to see or immerse yourself in the city’s exciting food culture.
Sunny out? A walk alongside the seafront will leave you refreshed and it will also provide the perfect backdrop for the best IG snaps! Kobe is a hive of activity and while you may not be able to experience it all in half a day, your host will help you plug into its pulse.
From fine dining to downtown shopping, pet cafes as well as its famous seafront and beautiful scenery, we all have an idea of how we would like to spend our time in a city, and our hosts can’t wait to experience it with you.

Our guide was a nice person but an ineffective guide. His command of English was not good. He was unassertive and didn’t seem to be sure of how to get to the places on our itinerary. In fact we seemed to go the wrong way a few times. He seemed to know quite little about the places on our itinerary and Kobe generally, or at least didn’t share this information with us. We had to keep asking him questions as he volunteered little, and he often didn’t seem to know the answers. This was an expensive few hours that was of poor value. Sorry to give a negative review, hopefully this will be fed back to him so that he can use it to improve for the future.
Show moreHad lovely tour today with Silva. Silva met us at the designated meeting place at the arranged time. He was a very pleasant man with excellent English. He brought us to the Nunobiki Herb Gardens which we accessed by riding the Rope Way (cable car). This was a very pleasant experience although it is tough going for people with walking difficulties. Next we visited the Ikuta Shrine, a small but pretty Shinto Shrine. We then had a traditional Japanese lunch at a local. Silva went to great lengths to ensure that gluten free was provided for my wife who is gluten intolerant. After this we visited Chinatown followed by some local shopping. Despite the weather being very hot our tour was a delightful experience. Silva was an excellent guide who brought us around at our own pace and provided us with a great local knowledge of Kobe. Thank you Silva.
Show moreEverything about the tour was amazing. Angelica was very knowledgeable, friendly, and very helpful throughout the experience. We really appreciate how flexible the tour was and her passion to show us the best of Kobe. We will definitely visit Kobe again in the future. We recommend this tour for anyone looking for something different!

Show moreEnjoyed everything!
Show moreAngelica did her very best to show us as much of Kobe as she could. The use of public transport she took us to the most interesting places we could fit into our time schedule. She kindly added an extra hour to our trip. Gave us a little test at the end to make sure we had all listened! Good guide to have.
