Fresh pandoro, glittering lights and larger than life Nativity scenes.
Here’s everything you need to know before your day unfolds.
Ah, we love Christmas time, don’t you? And you get to spend it in Rome, you lucky thing! As you can imagine, the Eternal City is even more magical than usual at this time of year. Don’t believe us?
How does strolling down cobbled lanes, the smell of baking panettone drifting out of bakeries, and festive lights twinkling overhead sound? Or what about playing it really Italian and stopping by the spectacular Nativity scenes at St Peter’s Square and Piazza del Popolo before perusing the stalls of the Christmas market in the Piazza Navona?
With one of our hosts to share the city’s beloved Christmas traditions with you, you’ll be swept up in the Christmas spirit and lulled into a blissful festive fairytale (or maybe it’s warming red wine you’ll stop to sip, which will lull you into that, we couldn’t possibly say).
Feast on classic Christmas treats like pandoro or panettone, soak up the atmosphere, and get cozy amongst the Christmas lights and festive garlands draped across a piazza. La dolce vita indeed!

Our first day in Rome we planned a private tour of the city lights and sites. Andreea was our host and guide for the evening. She was personable and passionate as she walked my wife and I around the various sites. It was one of our best and most relaxing days in Rome and a great way to get introduced to the area. The shopping, restaurants and attractions we experienced gave us a roadmap for what we wanted to do in the coming week. What a great way to get started!!

Show moreWe spent three hours with Gerry on our first night in Rome. We walked all around the city and Gerry made sure we hit some of the highlights we were interested in seeing. We were going to be in Rome for 10 days, so we got a great overview of Rome and Gerry took some great pictures of us in front of some of the popular sites. Great night and would recommend Gerry!
Show moreWe did the 3 hour walking tour through Rome with Alessandra. We've done and enjoyed many tours, but Alessandra was quite possibly the best tour guide we have ever had! She is friendly, kind, energy, enthusiastic, and full of interesting information. It was my husband and me and our two sons (16 and 14) and she took time to talk to each of us and get to know us and keep us all engaged. We didn't come prepared with a complete list of things we wanted to see, and we had already scheduled to see many main attractions on separate days, but Alessandra was able to think on the fly and come up with so many interesting places to visit that weren't already on our itinerary. Her passion and enthusiasm for the city of Rome and the history associated with Rome is evident and comes through in her tours. By the end of the three hours we felt we had made a friend and we were sorry to have the tour come to an end. We all had such a good time. Can't recommend her or the tour highly enough!! Thanks, Alessandra!
Show moreOlga provided us with a wonderful walking tour of Rome, showing us sites we never would have found without a knowledgeable guide. She went above and beyond to confirm the tour with us as I lost my cell phone in the airport prior to arrival. She was very patient while we explored sites and offered additional time frequently. She was very friendly, went at a good pace, and provided us with a wealth of information. I highly recommend her!
