What you’ll do

Nothing surpasses the Aussie love of combining brekky and lunch into one perfect meal - brunch! You’ll join one of our local Melbourne hosts for a glorious morning feast in the foodie Footscray neighborhood, which when you read it quickly, sounds suspiciously like ‘food-crazy’, no?

Here, you’re never too far from your next plate of chili crab scramble, beetroot, and cheddar waffles with grilled salmon and avo, or the king of brunches - eggs benny. You’ll stroll through the area and settle on a cafe you like the look of, and hey, if there’s a queue, it just means you’ll have to sip a mimosa while you wait.

Take your pick from unassuming-looking spots where you can try global fare - maybe you’re in the mood for Thai? - or let your host take you to an Antipodean (aka an achingly trendy, coffee obsessed, in-house-bakery featuring) cafe - this sounds like a typical Aussie brunch spot to us.

Once you’ve feasted (and brunch can be many courses, you know), take a stroll around the nearby Queen Vic Market, and pick up a dessert - cronuts would be our pick. You might just need another nap after this.

  • Get recommendations from your host for where else to stop by for coffee and brunch during the rest of your trio

    This is a great way to discover the Melbourne brunch scene! I was travelling solo so it's nice to meet a local who could tell me about food and culture in Melbourne. I am a massive foodie and got to try some of the best food in Melbourne and also learned about the city and what is that the locals love about it. I really enjoyed this experience!
