Hye, I'm Jess. I love Zurich for its perfect balance of nature and city life, its international atmosphere with Swiss charm and its rich cultural scene. Walking through the Old Town, exploring local cafés, restaurants, and markets is one of my favorite ways to experience the city. I’m fascinated by Zurich’s hidden paths, cultural events and the stories visible in every cobblestone of the old town. I enjoy visiting historical sites, taking part in traditions like the Sechseläuten and supporting dance and art through events such as Zurich tanzt. I know Niederdorf, Bahnhofstrasse and the city’s historic route from Lindenhof to the Wasserkirche, Grossmünster, and along the Limmat inside out, uncovering layers from Roman times to contemporary Zurich. Guiding visitors through hidden ruins, secret corners and Switzerland’s rich history is my passion and I love bringing the city’s stories to life with enthusiasm and curiosity.
Legend has it that Charlemagne’s horse chose the site where Zurich’s iconic Grossmünster Church now stands. Nearly 1,200 years later, it remains a landmark that defines the city’s skyline.
From enjoying a picnic by the lake in summer to savoring a cozy cheese fondue in winter, Zurich always has something special to offer. I enjoy walking through the city, exploring its architecture, and uncovering the stories behind its development. Beyond Zurich, I also know Luzern, Basel, and Schaffhausen well, which makes for fascinating day trips. With a deep knowledge of Zurich’s history and a passion for sharing its hidden gems, I can guide you through everything from gourmet dining to authentic Swiss street food. My goal is to help you experience the city in a way that feels insightful, enjoyable, and full of discoveries.
Zurich is full of quiet corners, hidden architectural gems, and surprises around every street and I love sharing them with visitors. I enjoy wandering the Old Town and lakeside, especially on Saturdays at the flea market or during farmers’ market days and taking the train up to Üetliberg to explore the hills, whether snow blankets the city or spring brings it to life. I know all the neighborhoods intimately and take pride in introducing guests to Zurich’s geography, history, local cuisine, shops and lesser-known architectural treasures. For me, the joy is helping visitors see the city’s charm and diversity through thoughtful, immersive experiences.
I love how Zurich blends different atmospheres - from bustling banking districts to the calm of the lake, the charm of Old Town, and the local breweries that make the city so unique. Some of my favorite spots include enjoying sausages, fries, and beers with friends at Vorderer Sternen, or finding a peaceful moment on Lindenhof while watching the city’s energy flow below. Having lived in various neighborhoods, I know Badi Letten and its surroundings, the Old Town, Bahnhofstrasse, and Langstrasse very well. I’m passionate about Zurich’s architecture, view spots, restaurants - especially Italian cuisine - local food and beer, shopping areas, public gardens and historic sites, and I love sharing these experiences with visitors.
sociable, interested, like different cultures and cuisines
From historic buildings overlooking the lake to lively events, museums, restaurants, and shopping, Zurich is a place where you can never get bored. I enjoy simple pleasures here, like browsing a bookstore and relaxing in a café on Bahnhofstrasse, or taking a boat out on the lake to soak in the views. I know neighborhoods like Kreis 1, 6, 8, 11, and 12 really well, and I’m always excited to share their unique character. Whether you’d like to explore the charm of Niederdorf, understand the city’s excellent transport system, or discover hidden spots locals love, I’ll make sure your time in Zurich feels welcoming, memorable, and full of discoveries.
What I love most about this city is how it’s always buzzing with energy - there are endless events happening year-round, and truly something for everyone. Zurich is also stunningly beautiful; you can wander for hours and somehow never walk the same path twice. I’m a big fan of discovering new restaurants and cozy cafés, and I can point you to the best spots where locals like to relax with a coffee or sit by the lake soaking in the views. You’ll often find me at sporting events, enjoying the electric atmosphere or exploring my favorite neighborhoods like Oerlikon and District 1. I know all the places that bring out Zurich’s local charm beyond the typical tourist trail, and I’d love to share them with you in a fun and authentic way!
