A bar hidden in the forest, a historic castle and even a Magic Fountain (it’s a real thing).
Here’s everything you need to know before your day unfolds.
If you feel like exploring Barcelona off the beaten path then you’re in luck, you’ve come to the right place. You’ll join one of our Barcelona hosts to explore Montjüic, a leafy neighborhood that has lazily blanketed itself over the hillside overlooking the harbor. The area takes its name from the Catalan for meaning ‘Jewish Mountain’, as it was once the home of the city’s Jewish community. You’ll visit Montjüic Castle, an old military fortress that has roots dating back to 1640, and stop by the Olympic Stadium (which has an unusual history - we’ll leave it up to your host to divulge details).
You could wander through The Museu Nacional d'Art de Catalunya, with its Romanesque paintings and Catalan art, then play hide and seek and look for the coolest bar in the neighborhood. Oh alright, here’s a clue: it’s hidden on the forested cliff-tops behind the castle. Barbecues, sunset drinks, and DJ sets, what more could you want? A magic fountain, you say? There’s one of those too; the Font Màgica de Montjuïc is an amazing display of motion, light, color, music, and water acrobatics. Life’s not bad up on the hill.
Please note that the show at the Magic Fountain takes place from June to the end of September, from Wednesday to Sunday at 21:30 so we recommend booking on these days and as an evening experience if you would like to include this.

We had a fantastic afternoon with Pau. He is an incredible guide—deeply knowledgeable about the history of Barcelona and passionate about sharing it. He met us promptly at the cathedral and led us through the winding streets of the Gothic Quarter, highlighting both iconic landmarks and hidden gems we never would have found on our own. One of the most memorable stops was the peaceful Plaça de Sant Felip Neri, where Pau shared its moving history. We also loved visiting the historic café Els Quatre Gats, a favorite of Picasso’s, which gave us a real sense of the city’s artistic soul. Later, we took a break at a very local spot to enjoy rich coffee, thick hot chocolate, and freshly made churros. Pau made the city come alive for us, and this tour was the perfect way to begin our time in Barcelona. Highly recommended!

Show moreIt was a bit pricey experience but we had a great time! Our host was great as well and really listened to our wants.
Show moreAlan was just awesome! He had made reservations at 3 different tapas restaurants. He made wonderful recommendations too. Drinks and food included! Alan was very knowledgeable about the city and food. I was in a mobility scooter and he picked us up and dropped us off at the hotel. The day of our tour happened to be our 39th anniversary and he even bought us a souvenir made by a local artisan! Alan made it an excellent excursion which I highly recommend!

Show moreAnna was right on time and very knowledgeable about the history and architecture of the city. We made the mistake of scheduling when many shops were closed for siesta. She was still able to make it a very enjoyable trip for myself and wife. Thank you.
