Lőrinc was an exceptional host for my 4-hour Budapest tour. He was knowledgeable, warm, and incredibly welcoming. I felt safe, as if I were exploring the city with an old friend. His English is excellent, and his worldly background, having studied in Japan and India. He was flexible and very agreeable, and after getting to know your preferences, he took the lead to make the most of the tour time. We visited as many attractions and sites as we could in our short time! We explored the city by public transportation, visited historic landmarks, enjoyed beautiful views, and covered so much ground in a short time. Because it was a private tour, we moved at our own pace and tailored the itinerary exactly to what I wanted. Lőrinc was flexible, patient, and always accommodating. I only had one day in Budapest, but thanks to him, I was able to see all the major attractions with clear, insightful history at each stop. I could not ask for a better way to explore the city. If I was doing this by myself, I wouldn't have been able to get from point a to b as quickly, and without the small details he was able to point out. It was perfect. Highly recommend! Excellent walk through downtown Kanazawa with Mouri. He showed us some special locations for the fall colors and brought us to some hidden spots along the way. I do think some hidden food spots would have been a great addition, it's hard to fit in eating and sightseeing into a 4 hour window. My recommendation to City Unscripted would be to add another hour or so to incorporate an authentic lunch option.

Ross timed our experience perfectly to coincide with a booking we had made after the tour. He was knowledgeable and friendly and adapted our route on the go once we had told him what we managed to see the day before. Your host is a knowledgeable local, more like a friend showing you their city. It’s flexible, one-on-one, and tailored entirely to you.

How does personalization work?

After booking, you’ll receive a short questionnaire where you can share your interests, travel style, and any must-see spots. Based on that, we’ll match you with a local host who’ll reach out to plan your personalized itinerary.

Will I know my itinerary in advance?

Yes, you will have the opportunity to chat with your host directly and agree on a plan for the day. However, there’s always room for spontaneity and local surprises!

Can I adjust the plan on the day?

Absolutely. Your host can adjust the itinerary on the day based on your pace, energy, or any new ideas you have. It’s a flexible experience from start to finish.

What if I don’t know what I want to explore?

That’s completely fine! Select an experience theme or a flexible discovery experience, and after booking, answer a few questions so your host can design the perfect experience for you.

Can I request specific places or types of stops?

Yes! After booking, you will receive a questionnaire where you can highlight must-visit spots and anything else you’d like to include, and your host will craft your experience around them.

Will I see famous landmarks or just hidden gems?

Both! Your host will take you to iconic sights if you want to see them, but they’ll also introduce you to places and stories most travelers miss.

Is this experience suitable for families, solo travelers, seniors, or groups?

Yes! This experience is designed to be flexible and can be tailored to suit families with kids, solo travelers, seniors, or small groups.

Are there fitness, mobility, or accessibility requirements?

This is a walking experience, but it can be tailored to suit your pace and comfort. If you have mobility concerns or would prefer to minimize walking, let us know in advance—your host can adjust the route, include public transport or rest stops to suit your needs.

Can my host meet me at my accommodation?

Hotel meet-ups are available upon request in central areas. If you're staying outside the city, your host will recommend the best meeting spot and guide you with directions.

What if I want to extend or shorten the day on the go?

If you’d like to extend your time with your host, simply ask if they’re available and continue the tour. Hosts can’t accept payment directly, so once you’re done, contact our customer service team at info@cityunscripted.com to arrange payment. And if you need to finish early, that’s no problem at all!
