What travelers think of our Milan experiences
What you’ll do
With your host as your own personal GPS, menu translator and restaurant reviewer, all you’ll have to worry about is flitting between pasticceria (small shops selling cakes and sweet treats), tasting pizza al taglio and panino - Milan is known for its love of gourmet sandwiches since it’s a city always on the move! You could try tramezzini – Italian bread traditionally sandwiching mozzarella, Squacquerone or Fontina cheese, and meat (smoked prosciutto and parma ham are always winners) – and mouthwatering toppings like olives, artichoke spread or balsamic vinegar cream. For something sweet, pop to a pasticceria and indulge in a classic tiramisu or cornetto, or try delectable diplomatico (layers of puff pastry, sponge cake, and pastry cream).
