What you'll do

Crane your neck up at the July Column in Place de la Bastille, a stone’s throw from the banks of the Seine in central Paris. See the vintage clothing stores and trendy galleries of artsy Le Marais, the neighboring district, and sample cheeses at 400-year-old Marché d'Aligre, a historic covered market. Admire the historic architecture in the Latin Quarter on the opposite side of the river and you’ll see why tourists flock to Paris – but, thanks to your host, you’ll also see its secret side, like the unexpectedly spectacular view of central Paris from the Arab World Institute!

Where you’ll go

Paris’s attractions are too many to count – but in just eight hours, you’ll discover several across the city’s most famous arrondissements. From the banks of Île de la Cité, one of the Seine’s natural islands in the very heart of Paris, you'll be able to see two of the city’s most famous landmarks: the Louvre and Notre-Dame. From here, you’ll head west along the river towards the Champ de Mars and the Eiffel Tower and amble south through the historic Latin Quarter, past the Pantheon, towards the chilling Catacombs of Paris.
