Hi there! My name is Mark and I am a local host in Tokyo. I am a friendly and warm person who loves to share my city with others. I am known for my kindness, consideration, sense of humor and positive attitude. Tokyo is an amazing place to explore and I feel grateful to call it home. One of the things I love most about the city is how safe it is, which makes it easy for visitors to feel comfortable and enjoy their experience here. I am a total expert at navigating the cultural hotspots in East Tokyo, as well as hidden gems that are often missed by the crowds. I love discovering new places and sharing them with others. If you're looking for a local host who is knowledgeable, friendly and open-minded, then look no further! I would be thrilled to show you around and help make your trip to Tokyo a truly unforgettable experience.

My reviews

Mark was very friendly and knowledgeable. He adapted to our needs and what we wanted to do. Hopeful getting a rail pass. Would tour with him again!

Wonderful opportunity to spend time with a thoughtful guide willing to travel at our own pace! Made recommendations based on our interests.

adjusted as needed to ensure we were happy and excited. His choice for lunch was superb, his attentiveness to both our desires was greatly appreciated, and he became a friend quickly. So easy and so informative! Taking a personal tour was an excellent decision as we understood what we were seeing, the history behind it, and its importance to the Japanese culture. Cheers to Mark!

Mark was an exceptional and relaxed guide with a wealth of knowledge, easy going personality and loads of fun. Covered all that I wanted to see & more, stopped along the way for many photo opportunities. Waited patiently along the way until I was ready to move on. Would have never covered so much on my own, much better than working off your iPhone or guide book. An immensely enjoyable day, highly recommended. Finding a cherry blossom and the video of me on the famous crossing .. it was money well spent! Would have missed so many key spots & sights trying to do this all on my own. Lots of territory covered cultural, mostly off the beaten track & quirky .. Harajuku, ueno park, street market, Yoyogi park, Shibuya crossing / food & entertainment districts, dog statue, lesser known shrine & temples (trying out for good luck), Godzilla head & 3D cat digital billboard, Shinjuku. Icing on the cake was seeing my first cherry blossom when I didn’t expect to see any yet!
