About me
I'm a former journalist and communications professional, with an unquenchable appetite for learning. I love to travel and meet people, and enjoy exploring all aspects of London, especially lesser known locations. Family experience, and my career as a marketing manager for 20 years with Motability, led me to encourage greater accessibility, and I collaborated with Rough Guides to produce the first Rough Guide to Accessible Britain, which recognised some of the best tourist venues across the UK. I am a member of the British Library, British Museum, Museum of London, National Trust and English Heritage, and having recently taken early retirement, am making the most of walks, talks, theatre and exhibitions - as well as learning to ice skate. I enjoy hiking, cycling and running, and love London's green spaces, but head for a cup of tea, good meal, or glass of cold rose, to wind down! I am married with two grown up children, and we have lived in north east London for around 30 years.
