We had a great time with Mithila as our guide. Four hours of culinary adventure! During our tour we had many local specialties across Tokyo, without any hurry. At the end Mithila showed us some great places we could explore by our own, with even more delicious japanese food. This excursion is really highly recommended!

Our tour guide Marin was extremely friendly and well-versed in getting around the Shinjuku and Shibuya area of Tokyo!! She met us promptly at the desired time and aided both me and my wife to any desired destination we wanted to visit. We initially made plans to eat specific foods, but we’re offered alternatives that were well within our budget and were more illusive than what we could have obtained ourselves. This made the experience feel much more wholesome than stumbling our way through communicating in restaurants where English speakers and menus were not available. Marin, being from another country, also offered a well-versed explanation of the differences between Japanese, French, English, and Australian cuisine. We enjoyed speaking with her about her past experiences with traveling, the ways in which she became accustomed to eating and living in Japan. This was a special trip for us (honeymoon) and we wanted to feel immersed but comfortable in our travels. She did all of this and more, adding little hints of information about the districts we were exploring and all of the options of food she could offer! Japan, as a country that is often shrouded in mystery, became much more relatable with her guidance during our excursion with her. I would say that a part that was unfortunate, but not Marin’s fault, is that we chose a Sunday to do our food tour which caused some eating spaces to be closed earlier than expected. Again, not her fault! Just bad timing on our part. I would suggest doing a food tour with her 100%. She even stayed with us after her appointed time and showed us more spots to explore on our own accord. We took her out for a drink and more food after because we appreciated her kindness and wanted to get to know her even better! After, she even directed us to the JR railway, and showed us how to get home. This made us feel safe in an unfamiliar city, and we left feeling satisfied and smiling. Thank you Marin! We hope to see you again in the future as a tour guide again, and perhaps even a friend! Much love, Taylor & Taylor
On behalf of Christina and myself I wanted to say a big THANK YOU for your time and the tour yesterday. It wasn't the easiest of conditions, but thank you for working around the pouring rain (POURING!) and for finding a way to incorporate the things we wanted to eat and try (subway negotiations! food halls! gyozas! macha icecream!) while showing us Ginza and Shibuya. And for the tips, too. Enjoy your well deserved time off and if you're in Singapore, holler!
