What you’ll do

You may struggle to believe that Bologna has a flourishing vegan scene, but we promise we’re telling the truth. You’ll join one of our friendly local Bologna hosts and explore the plant-based side of Bologna a few visitors taste, or see.

Begin your experience by strolling through the Botanical Gardens, getting a feel for the indigenous plants that occur and grow there. Afterward, you might like to try out one of the innovative vegan bistros in the city, like Botanica Lab, Uno Cafè Olistico, or Centro Natura.

All dishes are made with fresh, seasonal products and will suit all tastes - even known to entice those who don’t follow a strict vegan or vegetarian diet - an impressive feat in the city known as “Bologna the Fat”.

Your host knows just the places to take you, so you can feast on vegan gelato, some surprising plant-based twists on some famously meaty dishes and discover some ethical, sustainable, and organic stores, or do some shopping at a local fresh food market.
