I am Tennis Coach

Hi all! I’m Alex, an American who’s been living in Norway for three years. I have been working as a teacher for the past three years, and I now coach tennis and tutor! I love to take my dog for walks in and around Oslo, read, and play tennis/padel. I also enjoy going to different restaurants and cafes with my friends and family. Before moving here in 2019, I visited family here for four years. Combined with this and the number of friends we've shown around the city, I'm confident that I would be a great tour guide! My favorite thing about Oslo is the wide variety of things and places you can experience in just one city. When my family or friends visit, we take them to Holmenkollen first to see the beautiful view of Oslo. That is my favorite thing that I saw on my first visit, and it has been the same for everyone I've shown around! After this, we typically grab a coffee and walk around the palace and Karl Johans Gate, taking in the sites and different historical buildings. We then walk around Aker Brygge and grab lunch along the water. Finally, we go to the Astrup Fearnley Modern Art Museum while we are in the area, and pick up gelato at Paradis after! If someone enjoys museums, I'd take them out to Bygdoy to check out the different museums, walk along the beach, and even see the "royal cows". If someone visited in December, the first thing I'd want to do is take them to the holiday markets at Karl Johans Gate or Bærums Verk. In the summer, we'd take a ferry out to the beach or spend time at Tjuvholmen. There are so many wonderful places to visit in Oslo, and it would be great to plan a tour around what someone is interested in! Our favorite places to eat are Mamma's Pizza, Bastard Burgers, and New Delhi. On my perfect day, I'd grab a coffee at Pust and walk to Frogner Park, where I'll either read or play games with friends.
