Enchanting, Historic, Lovely
Greenwich is the most enchanting neighbourhood south of the river. Known internationally for the site of the Prime Meridian line, Greenwich has played a historic role in shaping England’s position in the world. This was formerly the site of England’s most important naval college, which produced some of the most eminent sea captains and admirals of the British Empire. Today the impressive old colleges are home to a fantastic maritime museum, royal observatory and a liberal arts college. And permanently docked in the harbour at Greenwich is a legendary ship, famous for speeding spices and tea from the Orient to London—this ship is open to the public and completely restored to help you imagine what life was like as a seaman of the Empire. Greenwich has a large park filled with walnut trees and elegant fountains, there are many tiers of terraces over the Thames.
Here is a suggested itinerary to allow you to experience as much of the area in a few hours. After booking we can adapt the tour to suit your interests and preferences.
Take the boat on Thames towards Greenwich and explore London's nautical heritage
Leave Central London navigating on Thames and discover a large, sprawling park on a hillside, which offers stunning views of Greenwich and the Thames. Before walking up the hill, your Local Host will lead you to the best of this area's historic and architectural treasures. At the top of the park you will find the Royal Observatory, where your Local Host will show you the Greenwich Meridian and the astrology secrets hidden there. The park has flower gardens, orchards, large leafy trees and a couple of cafes with wrap around outdoor seating where you can enjoy the breeze.
After the Royal Park and Observatory, your Local Host will lead you through Greenwich's hidden streets and treasures.
The stretch along the river that's the most beautiful in South-East London and possibly with the richest history. As the hub of Greenwich's maritime past, this area will convey you the historic feeling. your Local Host will lead you through the small lanes and the picturesque market to explore the dockers' lives and the nautical heritage.
Lunch at a traditional, airy pub next to the park with classic food.
Right on the edge of Greenwich Park, this large and airy pub sprawls out over three floors and a terrace, with pristine and stylish rooms, tasty pub-food and a myriad of wines, spirits, beers and cocktails to choose from. The main pub room has loads of seating, long brown leather couches, naked bulbs suspended over the long bar and pretty green and white painted walls

I am a recent psychology graduate, with bubbly, outgoing personality! I love people and always find it rewarding when I can help them in any manner. Having lived in London my entire life, I understand how daunting and unfriendly it can be. However, once you get to know it, London is truly the greatest city in the world. I have lived in East, North and South-East London and have worked all across Central and South-West London. So I have a working knowledge of all those places, however I know South-East and East London the best.Languages

I am an experienced tour guide, artist and designer, with a passion for London. I was born and brought up here in London, which is the most vibrant mix of old and new. It has three thousand years of history, yet is always re-inventing itself. So it remains the most contemporary and cosmopolitan in the world, brim full of art, design, architecture, theatre and music. My interests are mostly based around, and my background is largely in; the Arts. Particularly fine art, pop art, graphic art, street art and architecture. I have a university BA Hons degree in Art and Visual Communication and I am also a designer and artist. There are many human stories to tell, behind London, behind it's history and behind it's art.Languages

TOURISTY BUT WORTH SEEING WITH A LOCALBy Silvia D on 13 Mar 2016
Yes, Greenwich is in everyone’s list of places to visit in London due to the famous meridian and because it is very beautiful so obviously, it is full of tourists, so I was not sure if I was going to enjoy it. But make sure you book Leeta to show you around because she knows all the small pockets of non-touristy bits in the area that are definitely worth seeing and she will save you from ending up having lunch at some tourist-trap eatery!
BEST VIEWS OF LONDON!By Alejandra M on 25 Apr 2016
First of all, thank you Medha for being such a fantastic guide! The kids and I really loved Greenwich and we were lucky it was a sunny day so we could see the best views of London. Medha was so nice and so patient and she took to see parts of the area that we would have never seen otherwise and the kids really enjoyed trying some of the street food in the market. To be honest you can probably spend all day there so we didn’t get to see everything we wanted to see but we now have an excuse to come back.
ONE OF THE HIGHLIGHTS OF OUR VISITBy Liz M on 18 May 2016
We came to London on our honeymoon and decided to book some tours that could show us the tourist sites but also take us away from the tourist path, so we booked this tour and it was great! Our guide Angela, - also American – was super nice and knew the area really well so we really felt like we saw Greenwich differently that if we had just followed our guidebook. Hiroshi, my husband still talks about the spicy noodles he tried at the street-food market but we can’t remember what they were called! Anyway, if you do visit Greenwich I recommend that you book Angela to show you around. Well worth every penny!
