We enjoyed our night tour of Gion with Axel. He is an excellent guide who knows all the hidden spots where Geisha live and work. His English is very good, he is very knowledgeable about Gion, and has seriously studied Japan’s history, cultural and religious heritage. While we only caught a quick glimpse of one Geisha or Maiko during our tour, it wasn’t because of a lack of trying by Axel. We recommend him highly!

Ai was a fantastic host and guide to us for the city of Kyoto. We had an evening walking tour booked with her and she was like part of the family for those 4 hours. She was talking to the kids and explaining the history of Gion and sharing the stories of how Japan and India culture are so similar in certain aspects. It was an absolute pleasure to have her with us and wish her the very best!

Our tour with MIKI was AMAZING. She is a true local with a deep knowledge and love for Kyoto. Her communication leading up to our tour was great and so thoughtful - she really wanted to know our wish list and checked in via WhatsApp, as well as during our actual tour on what she recommended next and always asked "does it sound good?" She planned the most stunning tour for us, she knew all of the secret spots - every single moment was breathtaking. Look at the photos! She also knew a secret for bypassing what had to be an hour long line of a special Sakura show - we could not believe our luck and of course, all credit to Miki! This was 1 of 4 tours during our time in Kyoto and Tokyo and our two teenage sons shared how much they really enjoyed Miki and her tour. She is so friendly with a wonderful energy that she made the mostly walking tour SO fun for them and us! She helped us make memories for our family forever. We are recommending Miki to all of our friends who are now planning their trip for Sakura Season 2025. Plan now, because she will book up fast!
