What you’ll do

However long your ship is docking for, your local insider will help you make the most of your time. From discovering ancient temples like  Sensō-ji to exploring the explosion of pop culture, cosplayers, and wacky-themed cafes in futuristic Harajuku, your host will give you a taste of Tokyo’s intoxicating contrasts.

To see as much as possible - you could head up Tokyo Skytree, or even better, the observation deck of the Tokyo Government Building, before whizzing back down to ground level and exploring a neighborhood you spotted from above. Experience unique aspects of Tokyo’s culture, like slurping ramen in a private booth, shopping in mammoth electronics stores, and cheering ‘kanpai’ with your host over sake in a retro izakaya!

    Our tour guide Mishan waited for us at the dock for more than 6 hours after our cruise ship was very late arriving in port (due to a storm on the way). In spite of this she provided us with an excellent private tour to include the Meiji Shrine.

    I had an amazing time with Sofia! Since I already hit some of the prime sites, we took a drive around to see different islands and things off the beaten path. We then walked around her neighborhood, chatting and sharing stories. What a wonderful way to connect with another person and culture. She gave me recommendations for some extra gifts, took me to her favorite coffee shop, and even met her sweet dog! Very happy with my experience today.

    Ayaka was a delight, she catered the day to not only meet but exceed our expectations. I had my 72yo mother with me, so Ayaka made sure to take frequent breaks and choose entry and exit points at the stations and venues like Asakusa & Uena that were accessible by elevator. She introduced us to the vibrant side of Tokyo with off the beaten path coffee spots, amazing souvenirs stalls at the Ameyoko Street market, and little known food delights at Tsukiji Fish Market. Brilliant private tour! Highly recommend
