Rachel, private guide in Bologna

HELLO, I’M RACHEL

I live in Quartiere Saragozza.
I work in the centre.
I hang out in via Saragozza/via del Pratello, Murri, Santo Stefano, San Donato.

About me

I'm an English girl from the heart of Yorkshire with a lifelong fascination with Italy! I've been living here for nearly 3 years, 2 of those in Bologna, and I love to discover as much about Italian culture as possible! I know how to tell a good cappuccino from a bad one, along with the best brioche. I've been teaching myself Italian in my spare time with reasonable success. Every day I get a bit closer to my goal of native speaker level. It can be challenging at times but I just keep pushing forward! I love reading and my favourite author is Irish author Marian Keyes. With regard to food, its traditional Italian for me, and as a vegetarian its easy to find delicious veggie-friendly eateries here in Bologna. I love the cinema, and at the moment I'm enjoying experiencing the Outdoor Cinema in Piazza Maggiore - its free and has a great atmosphere, with all the films being shown in their original language, but thankfully there are subtitles. One of my favourite hobbies is planning my next trip in Italy. I've got a long bucket list and I'm working my way through it slowly. There are so many incredible places to see here, I can't think of travelling anywhere else at the moment. As soon as I have spare time and spare cash, I am off on another trip. With streets full of history and cuisine to die for, I would love to share the best experiences of Bologna with you!
