Why book CityUnscripted?

We help you save time, get great personalised recommendations on what to do and see and connect you with like-minded Hosts for advice or to be shown around almost like a friend.

To make the most of a city you need to connect with people that are like you but that know the city as a local insider.

This way you get to really experience the heart and soul of the city and do and see things you are interested in beyond the usual tourist hotspots.

Who are the Hosts?

We work with a network of 100s of Hosts across the world.

They are aged from 18 to 60+ and are collectively fluent in 25+ languages.

They have a wide range of interests and backgrounds and they work as Hosts in their spare time because they love to meet new people and share they city they know so well.

Our hosts are not licensed or qualified professional tour guides. They are city residents that provide local experiences to travellers to their city in their spare time on a peer to peer market place.

Can we trust the Hosts?

We have strict criteria that our Hosts have to meet before they can join.

They must have lived in the city for at least 1 year (the average for London is 9 years).

They must be outgoing and friendly, reliable, interesting and have a passion for their city. They must offer something that our other Hosts do not have, be it an interest or a skill. We have interviewed all our Hosts and can confidently recommend them. The are also insured by us.

What is "Book a Host"?

Book a Host is our main service and is available in all our cities.

This service helps you to explore the city with a like-minded Host who can give you advice or show you around on a personalised outing like a friend would.

You can select a Host that matches your preferences, check their availability, choose a start date and time and then book them from anything from 1 hour to multiple days.

Children are free (up to 15) with an Adult and the private group size is limited to 6.

What are "London Tours"?

London Tours are set private tours (time and area) that, whilst still open to personalisation, are more fixed in nature.

It is offered by city area, different tour durations (typically from 2 to 6 hours) and has specific Hosts picked for them that have the experience and knowledge of those areas.

The London Tour start times are flexible, as are the routes taken and the places and attractions visited- we want you to experience the city you are interested in, not the one normal Tour Guides say you should see.

What is the London "TripPlanner"?

The TripPlanner is an itinerary builder that lets you search our carefully crafted database of our favourite places in London using filters to give you relevant recommendations that can then be added to the itinerary using a daily calendar.

Our database is comprehensive and has local reviews on attractions and venues across a wide category list from art to welness. The TripPlanner also has mapping and booking features to help you make the best use of your time.

We can put together a comprehensive itinerary for you as well if you would prefer.

How can I pay?

Ideally you pay through our site. We use Stripe, a very well regarded and secure payment system that accepts nearly all debit and credit cards.

Should you have any issues with payment, please get in touch with us and we will try to accommodate you!

What is your cancellation policy?

We do what we can to accommodate you with any last minute problems but we also have to be reasonable with our Hosts and 3rd party suppliers (for the booking services).

If you cancel a booking that only includes time with a Host more than 7 days before the commencement of the services being provided to you, we will refund 100% of the Total Fees to you. No refunds will be made if you cancel less than 7 days before commencement of the services being provided to you.

If you cancel a booking that includes extras such as food, transport, tickets to attractions etc. more than 14 days before the commencement of the services being provided to you, we will refund 100% of the Total Fees to you less the costs of any tickets, transport and food costs that may have already been purchased on your behalf. No refunds will be made if you cancel less than 14 days before commencement of the services being provided to you.
