I am a Student
Hello, I'm a Finnish uni student living in Paris for over 2 years now. The reason why I love Paris is not only its undeniable beauty but also its history! As an international relations student I love frequenting the quartier of Saint-Germain-Des-Prés for two reasons: First reason is the Sciences Po book store that sells everything related to diplomacy, political science, international relations, etc. I could spend hours there! The second reason why I like this quartier is the famous Café Les Deux Magots, where the most important artists of the 20th century met Jean-Paul Sartre, Picasso, Ernest Hemmingway, etc. Even though my student budget can't afford to visit the place, I still like the ambiance it brings to this quartier of literature and culture. Tourists coming to Paris should also definitely experience the area around Opéra Garnier, as it makes a great day trip around this area that's packed with shopping possibilities: Galeries Lafayette for finer taste and for the rooftop view of Paris and this amazing street fashion store called Citadium close to Saint-Lazare. Moreover, by Opéra there is a very Instagram-worthy Starbucks, where the inside looks just like the palace of Versailles! Lastly, my hidden gem is a Mexican street restaurant in Pigalle called El Nopal, which is hands down my favorite restaurant in all of Paris. I have previous experience as a guide working in Versailles.
