Hello, my name is Ciaran Walsh, I'm a 24-year-old Irish man. I live in Paris, or 'The City of Lights as we sometimes call it back home. I am currently living in Bastille, but my favorite region of Paris is Montmartre. I grew up watching the movie Amelie, and so I was already semi-familiar with the area, however, it is even more awe-inspiring in real life. I think if you're going to spend just one day in Paris, there's no better area. I often visit places such as the cobbled street of Rue de l'Abreuvoir or have a picnic in Square Marcel Bluestein Blanchet or Square Jehan Rictus. As a lover of history and art, I remember the first time I saw the house of Van Gogh, and the Moulin Radet, one of the last traces of the Belle Epoque in Montmartre. While everyone knows of Montmartre cemetery, St Vincent Cemetery is often forgotten. It has only 900 tombs and is almost hidden among the buildings. Sometimes I go here to read in peace. Of course, we can't speak of Montmartre without mentioning the Sacre Coeur Basilica. One of the most iconic landmarks of Paris, with an interesting history, and a famous viewpoint to see all of Paris. I love that Montmartre has culture, music, great food, and history in abundance. You're never far from traditional, classical music, and the level of talent on display is charming and impressive. It's a romantic hilltop area that I found captivating straight away. This is the area that I always show my family and friends back home when they visit. I have a fun, kind, and patient personality. I love meeting new people and making friends. My true passions are music (I play guitar and piano), history, and travel. Let me show you everything Montmartre has to offer.
