About me

I'm an Italian native who moved in Tokyo in 2016. I fell in love with this city since the first time I visited it in 2008, so moving here has been the natural development of this ever growing passion. Tokyo is literally an endless source of elation, fun and, occasionally, puzzlement and head-scratching. By living here I'm getting accustomed to the local habits, and also slowly getting to familiarise with the riddle which is the Japanese mind. Being married to a Japanese woman makes that a mandatory task... I'm fond of foreign languages and, though alas not really fluent, I'm able to read, understand and somehow communicate in French, Spanish, German, Russian, Serbian, Indonesian and Finnish. If that's of any use I'm a former librarian and a former grind-core guitarist. I'm not a foodie, but a somewhat repentant junk-foodie.

My most exciting things to do in Tokyo

Taking long strolls through different neighbourhoods, skipping from futuristic to quasi-rural environments and back. Enjoying insane architecture, lively shotengais and general weirdness. Art gallery hopping around Ginza. Attending gigs of the improvised music scene and stumbling upon unheard of musical instruments. Riding the rollercoaster-like Yurikamome and Toneri Liner trains. Walking across the Rainbow Bridge. Earthquake simulators, motorbike races in Kawaguchi... Observation decks. Winter illuminations. Junctions.

Tokyo Unscripted

We thoroughly enjoyed our tour of Tokyo with Fulvio. He was very considerate and so good at pacing the tour to our abilities and interests. He made a cold, somewhat snowy day fun! We saw and learned many things we would not have if just touring on our own. While touring Fulvio also gave us a good introduction to the subway system so we feel comfortable enough to go to some museums and sites on our own. I’m already hoping to book Fulvio on my next stop in Tokyo and am inspired to try a tour with Cities Unscripted in other cities we may visit.

Last minute trip saved!

Fulvio did a great job giving me a run down of the highlights of Tokyo while also giving me some cool specific recommendations for things I was specifically interested in. This was especially worth it considering that my trip was last minute so I had no idea what to expect or look out for
