Hi, I’m Roy and a very proud resident and lover of my exciting, vibrant and cosmopolitan City of Manchester. I've lived in Manchester for 64 years and find that my city, Manchester, is one of the most exciting cities in the world. Manchester has been the founding bedrock of the industrial revolution and innovation and has many exciting museums exhibiting this. More recently Manchester has been the inspiration for some of the most creative musical minds in the world from the Hollies; Simply Red and Oasis. What I love about Manchester is that it constantly surprises me with new things to see and experience whether that is culture, the arts, the fabulous architecture, sport or music. All my acquaintances from all over the world are surprised by the diversity of interests when they visit Manchester. Manchester has many hidden gems that they just fall in love with in this vibrant and exciting modern city. If you make a booking with me I can take you on wonderfully relaxing walking exploration of this wonderful city, we can find many interesting things to do in the ‘town centre’ such as the vibrant Northern Quarter, with its rich history and which also comes alive at night. You may want to know about the alternative modern areas such as Spinningfields, well known for exciting places to relax and dine. There is also the famous ‘Village’ and historic Castlefield all within easy walking distance. So, if you want to discover one of Manchester’s coolest neighbourhoods that has something for everyone then I'm your Local!

From the moment I found and booked the tour, I had high hopes for the event and I wasn’t disappointed! The correspondence started to flow regarding the specific details for our tailor made bespoke tour and every requirement and request was catered for. Our guide Roy was amazing, so much knowledge to share and such a nice gentleman. We only wanted a 2hr tour to bridge 5he gap between events and we felt like we had been out for days. So much architecture and history in streets we have walked dozens of times before. Cannot recommend highly enough, well worth booking if you want to see a side to Manchester that you have probably passed but never seen before. We will be booking again

Wonderful that Roy catered to our rock & roll loving teen daughter, but also sought to engage the rest of the family with history, football and local lore. He set a great pace and knew when a beverage stop was needed. Courteous, knowledgeable and entertaining. Splendid!

They advertise this as personalized and guided by a local, both 100% accurate. My wife and I basically laid out the itinerary and not only was Roy (our guide) a local to Manchester he was local to the very neighborhoods we ask to visit. walked the paths as a child that we covered on our tour. I challenge you to find a better guide than that. from picking the best path through the city and taking care of all the travel arrangements to picking a historic local pub for a pint both Roy and Manchester are prefect. Being totally submersed in the music scene and meeting someone you'd look up next time you're in town makes for a trip of a lifetime.

When Viator and this tour operator says "this is a private tour" they are not kidding. This is the truest to that sentiment of any tour we've taken before. they asked us a series of questions and listened perfectly. They matched us with a perfect guide (Roy) who was not only a lifelong local to the Manchester area he was local to the very neighborhoods that we wanted to visit. It was so much more than we could have expected! It is a must if you are into the Manchester music scene.
