Ross and I had a fabulous tour with Takaya in Kyoto. We visited Nijo Castle, made ourselves okonomiyaki at a tiny restaurant and then went to the Golden Palace. Takaya is very proud of his home city and knows its history well. The only disappointment was the lack of cherry blossoms but we can’t control the weather!

Takaya was a great guide. His English was very good. He took us to places that we would not necessarily have made it to on our own, and helped us understand how the public transportation works. He even sent me a link to where the locals buy their kimonos, which saved me from paying tourist prices. This was a great way to start our Japan trip!

Takaya was an excellent guide. He was very knowledgeable and obviously very proud of his hometown Kyoto. He managed our mobility issues with grace and understanding so that we maximised the time we had with him.
